MAHOGANY SOFA TABLE

I've been working on a very 'tired' Sofa table. This job isn't a full restoration, I'm just doing the main faults- crack's in the top, missing piece from one of the 'lyre' ends, fixing the centre rail to stop the table wobbling and fixing in the drawer blanks.

New piece cut to match missing section. Ready to have grooves scratched in for the ebony inlay

Broken top

Top glued up with piece to make up the distance lost by shrinkage. If this piece wasn't put in, the drop leaves would foul the carcass.

I just have the polish work to finish off and fit the replacement brass knobs

LONGCASE CLOCK

This Longcase Clock needed a new base and feet to match the original, which had been cut down. The pictures below show the various stages.

The replacement board with veneer is on the left side, the original front of the clock base is on the right.

Veneer now in place.

Oak edge banding now on to match the original.

Front has now been cleaned up. I have made some bracket feet and they are ready to be fixed in place.

The base and feet are all in place- the clock is now ready for the base to be polished to match the rest of the clock.

ROSEWOOD BREAKFAST TABLE

This Rosewood Breakfast table was left in an outhouse and got damp, which resulted in the veneer lifting all over the table. Whilst the veneers to the top of the table had lifted badly, they could be saved. The veneer on the base however was in really bad condition so I had to replace it.
